Blue Flag 2016: Spain again world record holder in the number of the best beaches and piers

Just in this season 578 beaches and 100 berths of Spain got the Blue Flags. During the summer of 2012 flags appeared in 539 beaches and 83 marinas, and in 2013 - 550 and 97 respectively. According to the publication of National Geographic, among the five world leaders, in addition to Spain, remains Turkey (444 and 21) and France (400 and 98), Greece (430 and 9) and Italy (293 and 66).

The experts of the Foundation for Environmental Education awarded the Blue Flag resorts since 1985. In addition to safety bathing, the places are evaluated in terms of service. In the resort area must be created conditions for people with disabilities, rescue posts, health centers, toilets, rooms for changing cloths and litter bins. In their turn, tourists prefer high-quality places for recreation, which stimulates the administration of resorts to develop their coastal infrastructure.

Traditionally in Costa Blanca are marked the southern resorts of Torrevieja, Guardamar del Segura, Orihuela Costa, the northern - Javea, Altea, Calpe, Denia, Benissa, Benidorm, Fenistrata, Alicante.

All beaches and marinas of the world are awarded with the Blue Flag 2016.
